By playing LinkPrint you accept these terms. They're short because the deal is simple.
LinkPrint is a free daily guessing game. A new Daily appears at midnight, America/Chicago time. There are no accounts and nothing to buy: nothing on this site is for sale today. You may have seen mention of a possible future $5 one-time unlock — it does not exist yet, we take no orders, pre-orders, or payments for it, and nothing here promises it will ship.
Scores reach cohort boards from players' own browsers. Our server checks the arithmetic — it recomputes every total from the round trace and rejects submissions that don't add up or arrive implausibly fast — but no server can witness a game played in a browser. A board score is therefore a player's claim, checked for arithmetic, not a verified fact, and we never label ranks "verified." Inside a cohort of people who know each other, that honesty is social — which is the design. We may remove entries, and the first submission for a name and day is the one that counts on a board.
Cohort display names are how players appear to each other, so:
The mystery pages, their link fingerprints, and the redacted sentences are derived from Wikipedia articles. That material is available under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike (CC BY-SA) licence — https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/ — and belongs to its contributors, not to us. Every answer, once revealed, links to its Wikipedia article so you can read and credit the source. LinkPrint is an independent project: we are not affiliated with, sponsored, or endorsed by Wikipedia or the Wikimedia Foundation. LinkPrint's own name, branding, and site text are ours; the Wikipedia-derived material keeps its licence wherever it appears.
Play the game; don't automate it, flood it, submit scores for games that weren't played, or try to disrupt the boards or other players. Rate limits exist and may slow or refuse requests. Boards and scores are kept for a limited time (see the Privacy page) and then deleted — a board is a season, not an archive, and we don't promise any score will persist.
The game is provided "as is," free, as a small independent project. It may change, break, or be unavailable; sets, boards, or features may be altered or withdrawn. To the extent the law allows, we accept no liability for losses arising from playing or relying on the game or its boards.
We may update these terms; the new version will be posted here with a new date, and continuing to play after a change means accepting the updated terms.
LinkPrint is a small project, run in the open by a small team. There are two reasons people usually land here:
Report a display name. If a name in a cohort impersonates someone, is profane, or shouldn't be there, we will remove it — from the member list, the boards, and the stored score. To report one, we need three things: the cohort code, the exact display name, and the date it appeared. Send them via the channel below. You don't need an account, and you don't need to give your own name.
Everything else — a privacy question, a score that looks wrong, a bug, an idea: the same route, with whatever detail you have. A cohort code and a date help us more than anything else you could include.
The route, honestly: LinkPrint does not have a support inbox yet. The project's public home is its builder's GitHub profile — github.com/derksen-sam — where the project's public pages and updates live. A monitored support address is planned furniture, not present furniture, and we'd rather say that here than print an address nobody reads.
If the name you are reporting is your own real name, say so in the report — those are removed first, no questions about the rest.
